Saxon Genitive

Complete the sentences with the correct genitive form:

Possessive Adjectives

To show possession, use possessive adjectives: my, your, his, her, its, our, their.

Complete the sentences:

Answer the questions:

Possessive forms

Fill in the missing possessive form:

Possessive Adjectives

Possessive adjectives always go in front of a noun and show possession:

This is my book.

This is your pencil.

That is his eraser.

That is her ruler.

Its surface is green.

Our classroom is large.

Your books are new.

Their dog is in the garden.

Prisvojni pridevi uvek idu ispred imenice i izražavaju pripadanje:

Norman Genitive

When we talk about things and their parts, we use the 'of phrase' (the leg of the chair).

Kada govorimo o stvarima i njihovim delovima, koristimo predlog "od" (noga od stolice).

Saxon Genitive

When we want to show that somebody owns something, we use the Saxon Genitive:

singular nouns + 's (boy's dog),

plural nouns + ' (children's room)

By the way, when one thing belongs to several people, we use the possessive form on the final name (Mary, Beth and Jane's room).

Kada želimo da pokažemo da neko nešto poseduje, koristimo saksonski genitiv:

imenici u jednini se doda apostrof i slovo "s" - 's (dečakov pas)

imenici u množini se doda samo apostrof - ' (dečija soba)

Uzgred, kada jednu stvar poseduje više osoba, prisvojni oblik se koristi tek posle poslednjeg imena (Marijina, Betina i Džejnina soba).
